Sarah McTague

Undergraduate Student, Marine Science

I am currently a student in the class of 2018 at Stony Brook University . I major in Marine Science, as well as minor in Geospatial Science and Geology. I have had quite an eventful past few years as a student here, having completed a Semester at Sea across the Atlantic Ocean, studied at our Southampton campus as a student of the Semester by the Sea program, and this past semester have been studying at University of Queensland in Australia. I have been published in Stony Brook’s Undergraduate Young Investigator Review, an undergraduate science journal, for my work on jellyfish research. To be part of this program is to acknowledge that I am part of something that is bigger than myself and knowing that I have a duty to work towards making it better for the future. Though I am attentive to the many dangers that are affecting too many in our world, I am very aware of the anthropogenic impacts that are affecting our environment and put so many lives in constant danger. As a marine science student, I am dedicated to making the world more aware of their actions and how we need change now before it does become too late.
